Van Stairs
| Challenge: |
Before Tetra volunteers were able to make adaptations, a social group
for seniors had a difficult time getting into and out of their church's
van. The distance to step was too high for many of them, making it
impossible for some and unsafe for others to ride in the van. |
| Solution: |
Tetra volunteers designed and built these folding
steps to make it possible for seniors to enjoy group functions and
outings.
As an added safety feature, the railing makes it easier for seniors
to board the van. When not in use, the stairs fold up inside the van,
without sacrificing any space that could be used for passengers.
