Crib
| Challenge: |
Michelle
was expecting her first child, and being the primary caregiver, required a crib which she could properly access
with a wheelchair to ensure that the child had a safe environment
for sleeping.
|
| Solution: |
An existing crib was set on top of a table which provided the proper height for Michelle to care for her child as
well as a change area. In order to handle her child the side rail
at the front of the table was made into a sliding door which
opened half of the crib's length for access. For the safety of the
child, three types of locks were incorporated in the new sliding
door to ensure the child would be safe in the crib during the
night.
