Easel for Mouthpainting

Challenge: The client originally wanted a Desktop easel for use on top of her table. She later requested that the easel be freestanding and the volunteer built a floor stand to accommodate the easel.
Solution:

The working surface of the easel measures 24" wide x by 20" high and is constructed with 1/2" plywood supported by "feet" made of 3/4" plywood. Carriage bolts and wing nuts hold the strips of wood that can move up and down to adjust the drawing paper.

The supporting structure provides a space of 30" x 32" for the artist's wheelchair to fit under. The legs are also fastened with carriage bolts and wing nuts and can be disassembled for storage or transporting.
