Doorway Wedge

Challenge: There was a height difference of approximately ½" between the rear door and the interior floor and it was difficult for the residence in wheelchairs to properly maneuver the wheelchair through the doorway without knocking up against the door frame.
Solution: A piece of ½" solid oak wood made into a wedge to help guide the front casters of the wheelchairs over the door transom was screwed to the inside floor to compensate for the difference in the height.
Chapter: Hamilton, Ontario
