Door Remote Holder

Challenge:

The remote to open the front door of the townhouse has a clip on the back in order to attach it onto your shirt or jacket. It often tugged on my shirt and the clip was not very effective and fell damaging the remote. As well I had to remove it when driving due to the seat belts crossing over it and digging into my chest.

Solution:

A wooden box was made to hold the remote with just enough room to slide it out to change the batteries. It was mounted upside down so the button on the face of the remote could be activated by simply pushing upwards with the knuckle of my thumb. A velcro strap was used to secure the open side for access and painted to weather proof it for the winter months. The remote was often left  in the van and having it secured to my wheelchair gives me one less thing to remember when traveling.
