Bed
Table for Jigsaw Puzzles
Challenge:
A Vancouver woman requested a table that would allow her to w
ork on her jigsaw puzzles while in bed. She and the volunteer worked
together to create a workable and practical solution.
Solution:
The volunteer was able to find a second-hand hospital over-the-bed
tray with wheels and replaced the small top with a large piece of
particleboard (5/8" thick-2' x 4'). Wood molding was added along
the edge and raised 1/8" in order to ensure that puzzle pieces
would not fall off the table.
This device successfully met the needs of the client and allowed her
to participate in a favourite pastime that previously presented a
challenge.
