Alternative Interface Device
Prototypes
| Challenge: |
Individuals with limited hand mobility often require
some form of alternative input device in order to use buttons,
switches or remote controls. |
| Solution: |
A Hamilton volunteer has developed a number of
alternative input devices (one is as illustrated). Options for the
device include buttons of different sizes and shapes, and the use of
different tactile materials in order to ensure maximum user
function. The same volunteer has developed an Excel-based voice
recognition application as an interface for many household
electrical items. |
