I would like to thank you so very much for your recent efforts on my behalf. The bar that you constructed for my wheelchair has been a complete success. I realize that a simple metal bar will not change the world but it has made my wanderings in it a lot easier."

The Red Deer Chapter covers the area of Central Alberta between Calgary and Edmonton, including the communities of Olds, Sylvan Lake, Lacomb, Didsbury, Three Hills and Innisfail.

This chapter is currently being managed by Tetra’s national program coordinator David Fong from head office in Vancouver, BC. Please contact us if you require a custom assistive device.

However, we urgently need to recruit a chapter coordinator who can reach out to people with disabilities and technically-minded volunteers in this area..

Are you able to help Tetra? Do you know anyone who can?

The ideal candidate has office/administrative skills, is committed to social inclusion and a believer in their local community.

The role is not technical; it’s about networking. It mostly involves making telephone calls and in-person meetings.  A chapter coordinator liaises between clients, volunteers and head office, while representing Tetra within the community. In the larger chapters the coordinator runs monthly volunteer brainstorming meetings.

More information here.  Contact Eric Molendyk to talk it through.
