Get Involved: Chapter Coordinators

The following Tetra Society chapters are presently recruiting for the position of Chapter Coordinator:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the International Office (Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA), the incumbent will work independently from home to communicate, develop, and implement the Tetra Society of North America’s policies and procedures.  The Tetra Society of North America is an independent, charitable society, dedicated to assisting people with significant disabilities achieve an enriched quality of life within the community.  Using your experience with people with disabilities you will evaluate requests for assistance for assistive devices and coordinate a team of skilled volunteers to complete these assistive living projects.  

Reporting to the International Office and working with the assistance of a local advisory committee, you will be responsible for the management of the local Chapter of the Tetra Society.  Responsibilities include chapter development, presentations, small event coordination, volunteer management and coordination, screening, assessing and implementing projects for individual or member groups in order to minimize the barriers of accessibility and maximize their quality of life and involvement within the community.   

You must be available approximately 10 — 12 hours per month (flexible).

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with people with disabilities is an asset, active in your community and the ability to communicate effectively.  A minimum of two years satisfactory experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience) in a community setting is preferred, together with a sound knowledge of community resources and ability to work in collaboration with community partners.  A valid Driver’s License and use of a vehicle is preferred.  Limited amount of travel may be required.

Start a New Chapter

As word spreads about Tetra's services, so does the demand on our volunteers. We receive hundreds of requests each year in communities that do not currently have a chapter.
